Participating in Research


This page provides information for trans and gender diverse people and their guardian/s about rights and responsibilities when participating in research. Please note that some of the resources listed are general community resources and have limited representation of diverse genders and body types.

Young trans people and research. An article published in The Conversation which explains how trans young people and their families can assess research ethics.


The Australian Clinical Trials Alliance. The ACTA have information about how to get involved in health and medical research. They also have short videos explaining clinical trials and randomization.


Human Research Informational Videos. A range of videos related to being a research participant, including questions to ask researchers, informed consent, and privacy, by the US Department of Health and Human Services.
